AirCast For Android Lets You Stream Video From Your Gallery, Dropbox or Google Drive to Chromecast

Thanks to the talented ClockworkMod developer Koushik Dutta you will soon be able to stream media from your Android device to Chromecast all with the little help of an app called AirCast. The app, which is still in beta, runs on your Android device and streams video from the gallery, Dropbox or Google Drive to Chromecast. Playback controls can be accessed from within the app or from the notification bar.

It’s worth noting that since the app is still in a testing phase the button doesn’t appear in gallery apps on some devices, like the HTC One, and the APK will self destruct in 2 days. Dutta is still working out all the bugs and gathering user feedback during this beta period. Any crashes, etc, should be accompanied with logcats. We love the concept of this app and the more Android devices that have access to it the better.

Interested readers can peruse the demo video to see AirCast in action and here’s the AirCast APK download.
