How to Root the Samsung Galaxy S Lightray 4G

Maybe you’re tired of using the same oldish apps on your Samsung Galaxy S Lightray 4G? Maybe you want to try-out some new apps on your device, the root-only ones? Either way, this guide should help. Rooting the aforementioned device is extremely easy and can easily be done by any of novice users. Here’s how you can do that:

I. Before You Begin:

1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.

2. Make sure your device has at least 30% of battery life left.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Framaroot APK (It’s attached in the first post)

III. Rooting the Samsung Galaxy S Lightray 4G:

1. Download and place the Framaroot APK file onto your Desktop.

2. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.

3. Copy the APK file over to the root of your SD card.

4. Once the file’s been copied, disconnect your device from your PC.

5. On your device, head to Menu>>Settings>>Applications and enable the Unknown sources option.

6. Open the File Manager app on your device and install the APK you copied earlier.

7. Once the app’s been installed, launch it from your App Drawer.

8. In the app, select Install SuperSU from the first dropdown menu.

9. Tap on Aragorn button and it’ll begin rooting your device.

10. Your device should be rooted within a minute or two.

11. And you’re all set!

Excellent! Your device’s been successfully rooted using the Framaroot app and you’re all ready to get started with root-only apps!
