How to Unroot the Samsung Galaxy Star (GT-S5280)

Who doesn’t like being rooted? But there comes a time when you may want to unroot your device for some warranty reasons and that’s when our unrooting procedures come handy to you. If you’ve a rooted Samsung Galaxy Star and would like to unroot it, probably to get the lost warranty reinstated, then the guide below is all you need. Follow it to the letter and you should have your device unrooted:

I. Before You Begin:

1. You should have rooted your device using the procedure given here.

2. Make sure your device has at least 70% of battery life left.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Stock Firmware (Download the appropriate firmware for your device)

2. Odin

III. Unrooting the Samsung Galaxy Star (GT-S5280):

1. Download and place both the archives onto your Desktop.

2. Extract files from both the archives over to your Desktop.

3. Double-click on the Odin executable file and it’ll open.

4. Click on PDA and select the Stock Firmware file you just extracted from the archive.

5. Make sure Repartition is unchecked in the tool.

6. Turn OFF your device.

7. Turn it back on by holding down Volume DOWN+Home+Power buttons together.

8. You’ll see a warning message on your screen. Hit Volume UP button and you should boot into the Download mode.

9. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.

10. Hit Start in the Odin and it’ll begin flashing the stock firmware on your device.

11. It should take some good time to flash the firmware, so be patient.

12. Once the firmware’s been flashed, reboot your device.

13. You’re all done!

Awesome! Your device has been successfully unrooted and is back to the stock firmware!
