How to Root the Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Hands itching to root your Xperia Z Ultra and get the root-only apps up and running on it? No problem, this guide should help you do that. Rooting your Xperia Z Ultra will give you privileges to install root-only apps, flash custom recoveries and custom ROMs, uninstall system apps and so on. So let’s get to the procedure without further ado:

I. Before You Begin:

1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.

2. This only works on Windows based PCs.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. vroot (Download link’s given in the first post)

III. Rooting the Sony Xperia Z Ultra:

1. Download and place the vroot program on your Desktop.

2. Turn ON the USB debugging option on your device by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Developer options>>USB debugging.

3. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.

4. Double-click on the vroot executable file and it’ll launch.

5. Hit the Root button and it’ll start rooting your device.

6. Once rooted, you’ll have Superuser up and running on your device.

7. Open the Superuser app on your device and update the binaries.

8. You’re all done!
