How to Better Manage Screenshots in iOS 7 (Video)

If you take a lot of screenshots (maybe you don’t give a crap if the people Snapchatting you know that you’re saving their pics?), then it can be a little cumbersome to take them, go find them, then share them. With the jailbreak tweak called Clipshot you can have it automatically save the screenshot to different places, or even just have it prompt you automatically right after the screenshot is taken. Here’s how to install it and set it up to enable some better screenshot management in iOS 7.

I. Jailbreak your iPhone/iPad

To do this procedure you must be jailbroken. If you aren’t, you can head to our Jailbreak How To’s section and pick the jailbreak for your version of iOS (currently at the time of writing this is 7.0.6). Once done with that procedure and you have Cydia installed, head back here to continue.

II. Install ClipShot

1. Open Cydia.

2. Tap Search in the bottom right corner.

3. Type in ClipShot.

4. Tap on ClipShot when it shows up.

5. Tap Install in the top right corner.

6. Tap Confirm.

7. Tap Restart.

III. Setup ClipShot

1. Open Settings.

2. Tap on ClipShot.

3. Change the options as you see fit:

  • Default action – You can set it to always ask you what you’d like to do with the screenshot after you take a screenshot or have it automatically save to the camera roll or clipboard.
  • Always copy to clipboard – Turn this on to have it automatically save the image to your clipboard IN ADDITION to whatever you have it set to do in the Default action option.
  • Show camera flash – Turn on or off the screen flash that happens when you take a screenshot.
  • Play shutter sound – Turn on or off the shutter sound that happens when you take a screenshot.
  • Photo Stream for screenshots – Use this to disable/enable the automatic sharing of screenshots taken to your Photo Stream.
  • Notify application – Turn this off to stop whatever application you are running when you take the screenshot from being notified that a screenshot was taken (helpful for Snapchat?).

Enjoy!
