How to Root the Oppo Find Mirror

Maybe you don’t find your Oppo Find Mirror to be too exciting anymore? Maybe you want to do something with it that you haven’t done before? Either way, rooting should help you. By rooting your Oppo Find Mirror, you’re unlocking a number of ways to customize your device. And the procedure below is all about how you can gain root on your Find Mirror and get the best out of it.

Rooting is the process of gaining administrative rights on your Android device.  Once we root our Android device, we can then make changes to it to customize it well beyond what it normally can do.

Once you have root access on your Oppo Find Mirror, you’ll be able to:

  • Remove apps that were preinstalled by your carrier/manufacturer from your device.
  • Free up storage space (because of the above benefit).
  • Increase battery life (apps that might have been running constantly can be removed).
  • Increase performance (after removing apps that are always running, the device will be less bogged down and run smoother).
  • Update to a new version of Android (by flashing a custom recovery/ROM, see the end of this procedure for more info on that).
  • Tons of other customizations when you use your new found administrative rights to flash a custom ROM (again, see the end of this procedure for more info on that).

I. Before You Begin

1. This will void the warranty of your device. We won’t be held responsible if you end-up bricking or damaging your device. Do it at your own risk.

2. You can unroot your device to reinstate the warranty, though.

3. This only works for the R819 model.

3. This should flash a custom recovery as well.

II. Downloading Required Files

1. Download Framaroot APK and save it to your desktop.

4. Enable Unknown sources on your device by heading to Menu > Settings > Security > Unknown sources.

5. Open File Manager and tap on the Framaroot APK you have copied to your device. It’ll install the app on your device.

6. Once installed, launch the app from your App Drawer.

7. Select Install SuperSU from the first dropdown menu.

8. Tap on Boromir from the exploits list available on your screen.

9. It’ll start rooting your device.

10. When it’s done, you should be rooted.

Excellent! Your Oppo Find Mirror is now rooted and it can now be installed with your favorite root-only apps.

If you want to go beyond rooting, then flashing a custom recovery is what you should be doing. Here’s how you can do so:

IV. Flashing a Custom Recovery on the Oppo Find Mirror

1. Connect your device to your PC via USB cable.

2. Copy TWRP Recovery from your desktop over to the root of your SD card.

3. Once it’s copied, disconnect your device from your PC.

4. Launch the Mobile Uncle Tools app on your device.

5. Select Recovery Update.

6. Choose the TWRP Recovery Image you just copied to your device.

7. It should begin flashing the recovery on your device.

8. When it’s flashed, reboot your device.

9. You’re all set!

Brilliant! In addition to root-access on your Oppo Find Mirror, you now have a custom recovery as well. This is what will help you to flash custom ROMs as well as custom mods on your device.
