How to Set a Custom Wallpaper on the HTC One (M8)

Tired of the boring HTC wallpapers? If you want to make your device background your own, we’ve got the quick and easy steps to make it happen. All you need is a picture you like and a finger to glide you through the process.

Finding a Wallpaper

1. Do a Google search for whatever it is you’d like to have as your background. Image results on mobile may not let you save the image, so click on the link provided.

2. Long-press an image to bring up the menu, and select “save image”.

3. Check your downloads app to make sure it’s on your device.

Setting a Picture as the Home Screen Background

1. Long-press on the home screen to bring up the settings menu. Click on “Choose Wallpaper”.

2. Select “Gallery” from the list, then the picture you’d like to have as your background.

3.  Crop if necessary, then select “Done”.

Setting a Picture as the Lock Screen Background

1. Navigate to Settings from the drop-down notification shade.

2. Select “Personalize”, then “Lock screen wallpaper”.

3. Select “Use home screen wallpaper” if you want it to be the same as the home screen, or “Use custom wallpaper” for a different one.

4. If you use a custom wallpaper, select one from the gallery you’ll be re-directed to, and repeat step 3 from above.
