How to Install a Custom ROM on the LG G Watch for Better Performance (Video)

Oh, third-party developers. How much better you make our lovely tech toys. Case in point, the LG G Watch, which we showed you how to root recently, now has a custom ROM you can flash onto it utilizing that new-found root access that’ll increase its performance. Developer JakeDay over on RootzWiki released his custom ROM (the first that we know of for the G Watch, by the way) along with a list of enhancements he’s added to it that include things like “improved battery life”, “reduced lag between screens”, “improved overall performance”, and “other surprises”. Sounds good, no?

In case you aren’t aware, a custom ROM is a repackaged version of a device’s operating system that someone has created to be better than the manufacturer’s original ROM that comes preloaded on the device.

Here’s how to install his new fancy ROM.

I. Before You Begin

1. I’m doing this procedure on Windows, but you can do it on Mac or Linux by just using the other installers located in the zip file when you get to that step.
