How to Use Battery Saver on the LG G3

It seems LG has taken notice of the recent success of third-party apps that aim to help extend your battery life. In addition to adjusting the refresh rate of the screen to help squeeze out more power from the phone, they’ve, like most manufacturers, included a handy little Battery Saver app natively on the device. The app is pretty simple, allowing you to choose from a list of changes that save battery power (from dimming the screen to turning off auto-sync) and even fine tuning some of those (like how much you dim the screen). After that, you then select whatever battery level you want it to automatically kick in at or you can set it to manual and take the battery saving kill switch into your own hands.

Regardless of the settings you choose, it’s bound to help a little bit at least, and as we all know, when that battery icon turns yellow and panic starts to set in, you’ll deal with whatever downsides to just have it reach the end of the day.

Here’s how to use Battery Saver on your LG G3:

1. Pull down the Notification Shade and tap the gear in the top right to get to Settings.

2. Tap the General Tab.

3. Tap on Battery.

4. Tap on Battery Saver.

5. Check off and adjust the options you want to enable when it activates.

6. Tap Turn Battery Saver On and choose when you’d like it to automatically activate.
