How to Use Two Apps at Once on the LG G3 (Dual Window)

One of the benefits of having a large-screened device is having more real estate for your apps. But what about using that huge screen to give multiple apps some room at once? LG, following the lead of other manufacturers of large devices, had the same thought with the G3.

Using the Dual Window feature on the G3, you can drag two different apps to the screen and have them each run at the same time. This is quite handy if you find yourself normally switching between them a lot to finish a task (copying some information from the web to a note pad, referring to a webpage while writing an email, etc.). You can also adjust how much of the screen each app takes up, have one take up the entire screen temporarily, and more.

As part of our tips and tricks for the LG G3 series, here’s how to use Dual Window to allow you to use two apps at once.

1. Top on the multitasking button at the bottom right of the device’s screen.

2. Tap Dual Window.

3. Choose the two apps you want to use.

4. Drag the first app up to the top window.

5. Drag the second app down to the bottom window.

6. You should now see both apps on the screen at once. You can even interact with them each separately in their own window.

7. Drag the blue bar to change the ratio of the split windows.

 

8. Tap the blue tab on the blue line to get more options.

9. Taping the double arrow icon swaps the app windows so that the bottom app is now in the top window and vise versa.

10. Tapping the grid icon allows you to choose different apps.

11. Tapping the box with arrows pointing into the corners makes that app full screen.

12. Tapping the X icon closes that app.
