How to Quickly Launch Kids Mode on the HTC One (M8)

Sometimes, the quickest way to get your kid to stop making you want to pull your hair out is to let him or her watch a movie or play games. If you’re in a car, or otherwise tangled up doing other adult-type stuff, dealing with the kids can be more work than you’re prepared for.

Luckily, your HTC One (M8) has a kids mode, and it’s super easy to access. For those times when you need to fork over your phone, and don’t need the kids checking Instagram, this is go-to functionality. Here’s how it’s done:

1. Long press the power button.

2. Select “kids mode” from the pop-up list.

If it’s your first time, you’ll need to set up a Zoodles profile. Once you do, you can select which apps your kids have access to. Zoodles provides other kid-friendly things like a drawing app, too.

If you want to exit kids mode, that’s easy too. This is great for those weekends away, or when you don’t want to navigate through the buffer zone in a  meeting. Here’s how to do it:

1. Long press the power button.

2. When the menu pops up, select Kids Mode again (we promise, you’re leaving this time!).

That’s all there is to it! Setting up Zoodles is easy, but also necessary for this to work. A quick setup here keeps your phone just like you want it, and the kids from accessing apps (or other stuff) they shouldn’t.
