How to Disable Blinkfeed on the HTC One (M8)

One of the cooler features of the HTC One (M8) is Blinkfeed. The social newsfeed app makes it easy to access things like Facebook and Twitter in one stop, but some users aren’t fans. In fact, a vocal few feel as though Blinkfeed is pushed on them by HTC.

If that sounds like you, we’ve got a solution you might like. Here we’ll show you the quick and easy way to get rid of Blinkfeed on your HTC One (M8).

1. From the home screen, pinch with two fingers to bring up the overview screen.

2. Long-press on the Blinkfeed screen up top (it’s the one on the far left).

3. Once the Blinkfeed icon can be moved, drag it to the “remove” trash bin icon.

That’s really it, too! If you decide later you want to add it back, it’s just as easy. When you’re in the overview screen, you’ll see a placeholder with “+ Blinkfeed” on it. Just tap it, and you’re back in Blinkfeed bliss!

For those that don’t like Blinkfeed, or just want the ability to customize their device as they like, removing Blinkfeed is important. We’d like to hear from you, though — do you use Blinkfeed? Have you removed it? Let us know in the comments section below!
