How to Unroot the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (Canadian)

Maybe you messed-up your Canadian Samsung Galaxy Note 4? Maybe you want to send in your device for warranty? Either way, this guide should help you unroot your device and get it back to stock. It’ll reinstate your warranty and help you solve any problems that are caused by your software. Here’s how:

Unrooting is the process of removing root access, a custom recovery (if you have one), and just trying to get the device back to as close to stock as possible.

Some of the reasons for unrooting your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (Canadian) are:

  • Sending in the device for warranty (most, but not all unrooting procedures reinstate the manufacturer warranty if you had one before rooting).
  • Starting over (simply undoing everything you did while rooted so you can have a clean slate to start over).

I. Before You Begin

1. You should’ve rooted your device using the procedure given here.

2. This will flash the stock firmware on your device.

3. This procedure only works for the SM-N910W8 variant of the device.

4. You must have a Windows based PC to do this procedure.

5. You should’ve appropriate drivers installed on your PC. If you don’t, you can download the latest drivers for your PC from here.

II. Downloading Required Files

1. Download Odin and save it to your desktop.

2. Download the appropriate stock firmware for your device and save it to your desktop.

III. Unrooting the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (Canadian)

1. Right-click on both Odin and Stock Firmware one by one and select Extract here.

2. Double-click on Odin executable and it’ll launch.

3. Click on PDA and choose Stock Firmware available on your desktop.

4. Make sure Repartition is unchecked in the Odin.

5. Put a checkmark in the boxes that say Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time.

6. Turn OFF your device.

7. Reboot your device into Download mode. To do so, hold down Volume DOWN, Home, and Power buttons together.

8. Press Volume UP when you see a warning message on your screen and you’ll be taken to Download mode.

9. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.

10. Hit Start in the Odin and it’ll start flashing stock firmware on your device.

11. When the firmware’s flashed, your device will automatically reboot.

12. You’re all done!

Congo! Your Canadian Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is now unrooted and is running the official stock firmware.
