Samsung Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge Hands-On (Video)

One of the most expected phones to be announced a MWC this year was the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge from Samsung.

Instead of making multiple variants of the S7 in size and then making Edge versions of each like they did with the S6, it seems they are simplifying their portfolio and just offering an S7 in 5.1 inch screen variety and a larger 5.5” Edge version.

Both devices are basically identical in every way with the only differences being the screen size and aforementioned curved screen on the Edge and battery size (the S7 has a 3000mah battery while the S7 Edge has a 3600mah one).

Both have metallic unibody construction we’ve come to expect but with a more curved edge to both of them then previous models.

Working our way around the device, we have our volume buttons on the left side, our new, much requested MicroSD card slot at the top (where you also put the SIM card or dual SIM cards in some varieties of the phone), and our headphone jack at the bottom.

On the back of either device we have the same 12MP 1.7 aperture camera with it’s larger then normal pixels and phase detection autofocus and an LED flash.

On the front of the S7 Edge we have the 5.5” curved Super AMOLED screen with 2.5k resolution and the same screen with the same resolution in a 5.1” size on the S7.

Both devices also have a 5MP camera on the front as well as a fingerprint scanner in the home bottom at the bottom.

It’s running Android 6.0 with Samsun’s TouchWiz running on top and both have the Snapdragon 820 octacore processor with 4GBs of RAM.

Both will be available on March 11th of this year and Samsung will even throw in the Gear VR if you preorder it, a $99 value and a fun accessory to have for your Galaxy phone especially if you grab the Gear 360 they also just announced.

There you go guys, a quick hands on with the latest and greatest from Samsung, expect full reviews soon as I can get my hands on one. What do you guys think? Definitely much more refined in my opinion than previous models but what do you guys think of it? Let me know in the comments below as I’d love to hear from you!
