How to Root the Alcatel One Touch M’Pop OT-5020x

Now that you have a custom recovery installed on your Alcatel One Touch M’Pop, the next step of course is to root it and that’s what the post below will help you achieve.  Also, you can unroot your device you ever felt you wanted to go back to stock.  Read on then to know how to root your Alcatel One Touch M’Pop.

I.  Before You Begin

1.  You will need a custom recovery installed before you can root it.  Use our guide on the same to help you with this.

2.  Charge your device to 75% or more before you begin.

3.  Back up everything you feel is important before you start.

II.  Necessary Downloads

1.  SU-Busybox-Installer.zip

2.  SU-Uninstaller-signed.zip

III.  Rooting the One Touch M’Pop

1.  Connect your device to your PC and copy SU-Busybox-Installer.zip file to your device’s SD card.

2.  Power down your device and put it into recovery mode.  To do this, with the device turned off, press and hold the Power + Volume Up buttons until you see a black screen with options.  Use the Volume Up and Down keys to navigate to Recovery Mode option and use the Power button to select the option.

3.  Select ‘install zip from sdcard.’

4.  Navigate to the location of SU-Busybox-Installer.zip and flash the zip file.  Use the Volume Up and Down keys to navigate through and highlight the options and the Power button to select an option.

5.  Once the flashing is done, reboot your device.

You should now find the Superuser app installed 0n your device indicating that you are successfully rooted!

IV.  Unrooting the One Touch M’Pop

Use the same steps as in Section III but this time use the SU-Uninstaller-signed.zip file.
