How to Root the Motorola Xyboard on Honeycomb

The Motorola Xyboard was announced back in 2011, is an Android device running Android 3.2 Honeycomb. Although the device’s equipped with almost all the useful features, it still has some powers that can only be unlocked if you root it. Root-access on the device’s been achieved, all thanks to Dan Rosenberg, and it’s a one-click utility that makes rooting dead easy. If you want to root your Motorola Xyboard, just follow the guide given below as it will walk you through all the required steps. And here you go:

I. Before You Begin:

1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.

2. You must be running Android 3.2 Honeycomb.

3. You should have proper drivers installed on your PC.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Root Package

III. Rooting the Motorola Xyboard:

1. Download and place the Root Package archive onto your Desktop.

2. Extract files from the archive over to your Desktop. Don’t run any files just yet.

3. Turn ON the USB debugging function on your device. To do so, head to Menu>>Settings>>Developer options>>USB debugging.

4. Once enabled, connect your device to your PC via USB cable.

5. Double-click on the run.bat file you extracted earlier to your Desktop.

6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

7. And you should be rooted now!

Excellent! Your Motorola Xyboard has been successfully rooted and you should be able to see the Superuser app in your App Drawer. Your tablet’s now ready to run any root-only apps, just head over to Google Play and get some apps!

IV. Flash a Custom Recovery Image (Optional):

1. If you would like to flash a custom recovery image in order to flash custom ROMs, head to the How To Flash a Custom Recovery Image on the Motorola Xyboard to learn how to do that.
