So Google apparently has been working on a new app that uses Google Maps with 3D overlays, wikipedia layers, and has voice guided turn by turn navigation built in. And guess what? It’s free and it’s for Android right now.

Now you won’t be able to download it from the Market just yet (so you can put your phone down), but it will come preloaded on the Motorola Sholes (Droid) for Verizon on November 6th. So you better believe there will be a dev who will rip it right off and make it public 🙂

    that will be nice…… i download copilot but wont work on donut usind rooted phone.. with dwang rom.

    this will up the price of car chargers by soooooo much!!!! it would kill your battery the one thats on the phone already uses more battery then my usb deck charger can give it.

    OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG another 10 points for ANDROID. im so happy i didnt get an iphone last year when i bought my G1. im keeping this android forever. the original android!!!

    ok now i have sprint gps and works really nice… and only use 2 mb on the sd card… i love this gps from sprint….. if someone need a copy of this gps let me know…. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_85_uHmc1RY

    this one works really nice for me… like i said only 2mb not 1 gb like copilot.

    I have installed it from Android Marketplace, it doesnt navigate and crashes on launch, I m using Cynogenmod’s ROM

      Use Dwangs Donut ROM, works perfectly.
