Android 2.0

So I’m going to warn you right now. This is a very slow ROM, but if you want to just check out 2.0 real quick and then jump back to your original ROM, then go for it. Figured there were plenty who would want to play 🙂

Remember this is only for rooted G1s (so do our 1 Click Root and How To Load a Custom ROM if you haven’t already), then continue like normal; rename to update.zip and put on the root of your SD card, boot into recovery and Wipe then Apply.

MAKE SURE YOU DO A NANDROID BACKUP in recovery mode before you flash this ROM, just in case.

    I just payed with it for a couple of hours on my G1. It worked fine and very slow. This version is a striped down one. Very little extras. The phone ring did not sound and the wifi didn’t work either. I managed to make and answer a couple of calls with no problems. After looking around, I rebooted into recovery and restored nandroid’s last backup with no loss.
    Thanks for the tryout. Android 2.0 looks promising. I can’t wait for a streamlined version for the G1 with all the gadgets included!

    Messed around with it and not all that impressed yet. Reverting back to the 1.6 Donut. Not a lot of features to really play with. I will check back when it is a little quicker and more fun things to mess with. Thanks and keep up the good work, love trying out new Roms.

    i tried to do this update and when it started installing it then said that the installation was aborted. Did i do something wrong?

    when i wipe it then are all my apps lost?

      Yes, but you can just goto the Market and click on My Downloads and redownload them.

    How can i bring the normal andriod on my phone? i dont want a rom.
    only the normal android wich i can update!

      The G1/MyTouch/Magic wont be getting Android 2.0 most likely, so youd have to use a custom Rom. Even with custom roms you can always update, you just lose root access.

    For 32A i can install it or it is for 32b only?

      32B only at the moment. Not too mention it is very unstable, it is just meant for you to mess around with and then go back to a different ROM.

    ALright, so i know that google navigation is a closed source app and bla bla bla, but im just wondering, is there a way to pull the apk and put it into the 1.6? im kind of irritated to be waiting for 2.0,

    sander just use mybackup and you will get all your applications and data back ….back it up before you wipe save it on your computer.

    my sister messed up my phone and deleted all my data and now i cant get back to cupcake. I am stock on 2.0. Is there any way i can get back to android 1.6 or 1.5?

      Yes, just unroot (search our site for the how to unroot).

  • I was at the T-Mobile store last week and saw a Mytoch 3g running 2.0 do you know when it will be released for rooted phones

      We have it already, 2.1 actually. Go look at the Downloads section, flash a custom ROM onto your phone that is based on 2.1
