When Motorola released the Droid X they said it couldn’t be rooted, but they were quickly proven wrong even with a locked boot loader, custom ROMs, and being flashed daily. One thing that hasn’t been done until now is having the Droid X overclocked that 1GHz TI OMAP processor.
