Apple confirmed a recent recall of a small number of Verizon iPad 2 models. This statement following a host of recall rumors springing up among many Apple related blogs throughout the week.
It appears a number of iPad 2 models were shipped accidently with identical MEIDs. A MEID is known as the device’s Mobile Electronic Identifiers. This duplicate MEID issue causing specific problems for Verizon who depends on the MEIDs to activate their devices for each unique user.
While most of the devices were still in transit, Apple has requested Verizon stores to return all of the identified iPad 2 models in question.
