Lenovo ThinkPad Helix Makes Its Way Through The FCC, Confirms AT&T Native LTE

It’s remained unclear if Lenovo’s ThinkPad Helix was destined for a US launch, but a recent FCC approval gives us hope that we’re moving in the right direction.

According to the FCC filing, the 11.6″ Windows 8 tablet carries LTE for both the AT&T-specific 700MHz band and AT&T compatible AWS 1,700MHz and 2,100MHz bands. It’s this specific network support that makes it highly likely that the device will eventually make its way to US retailers. The FCC filing does confirm, however, that there is not cellular access for Sprint, T-Mobile, or Verizon.

We know that business users are always looking for a dockable tablet that they can rely on, so we’ll keep you updated as additional details surface around the ThinkPad Helix.
