How to Root the Motorola Charm

Rooting the Motorola Charm has become possible using the Universal Androot method. The method works on several Android smartphones and the Charm is one of them to be rooted with the app. You don’t have to be a geek nor an advanced user to gain root-access on your device, all you need to do is just follow the following guide and get your device rooted, it’s that simple.

I. Before You Begin:

1. This will void the warranty of your device, however, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.

2. Your device should have at least 50% of battery life left.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Universal Androot APK (It’s attached in the first post)

III. Rooting the Motorola Charm:

1. Download and place the Androot APK file onto your Desktop.

2. Connect your device to your PC via USB cable.

3. Copy the Androot APK file over to the root of your SD card.

4. Once copied, disconnect your device from your PC.

5. Enable the Unknown sources option on your device from Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Unknown sources.

6. Open the File Manager app on your device and install the APK you copied earlier to your device.

7. Once it’s been installed, open it from your Menu.

8. Hit Root button in the app and it’ll start rooting your device.

9. It should take a minute or two to root your device.

10. Once your device’s rooted, reboot it.

11. And you’re all done!

Congrats! Your Motorola Charm has been rooted and is equipped with the Superuser app. Root-only apps should now work fine on your device, so go and get them on your device!
