How to Root the Pantech Marauder

If you want to taste the 4G LTE speeds and a new version of the Android OS, then you should definitely go for the Pantech Marauder. It’s a budget-friendly Android smartphone that provides you with both of the aforementioned features. Besides, it does have a 1.2 GHz processor, a 5MP Camera and other usual functions. Root has also been achieved on this device so you can enjoy more apps on your budget device, read on to learn how you can root your Pantech Marauder smartphone.

I. Before You Begin:

1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.

2. You should have appropriate drivers installed on your PC.

3. This procedure works on Windows based PCs only.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Root Script (Download link’s given in the first post)

III. Rooting the Pantech Marauder:

1. Place the Root Script archive on your Desktop.

2. Extract files from the archive over to your Desktop.

3. Turn ON the USB debugging option on your device by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Developer options>>USB debugging.

4. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.

5. Double-click on ICS_Root_Unlocker.bat file available on your Desktop.

6. It should begin rooting  your Pantech Marauder.

7. Reboot your device once it’s been rooted.

8. You’re done!

Congrats! You’ve successfully rooted your Pantech Marauder and now load it up with your favorite root-only apps!

  1. after further reading: i’m pretty sure it doesn’t work with jelly bean. Where the script is located the author wrote “UPDATE 2013-07-08: I finally got the Jelly Bean update on my Marauder and am now looking for a way to root again. The exploit used in the script linked here was patched a long time ago, I guess, I’ll keep trying to find something that works but no guarantees.”
