I did a video recently where I compared the new faster charger solution for the iPhone 8 Plus to the iPad charger and when I did it I didn’t think to turn off the Wifi on one device so one had it and one didn’t and you guys pointed it out.
Now, I didn’t think of it because I assumed it wouldn’t make much of a difference. But with how many of you guys call it out, it got me wondering. And we know what happens when I wonder…
So I set up the iPhone 8 Plus and charged it 3 different times from completely dead. Once with wifi on and notifications coming in, once with airplane mode on, and finally with airplane mode and the screen off (except for a couple of seconds every 15 mins to check the battery level).
Here’s how they did:
There you go, it doesn’t seem to make a difference whether notifications and wifi are on which makes sense cause they don’t use nearly enough power for the device to slow the charge, but the screen being off did actually make a difference but surprisingly a lot less than I thought it would–a few percent here and there but not much.
There you go, let me know what you think in the comments below, if you liked this please share it it’s greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading!
