7 Best Free Apps for Android

Lucky for us, there are a lot of great free Android apps. Coming out-of-pocket for apps isn’t a habit for many Android users, but which are the best free Android apps out there? Here are a few suggestions for those you might want to download once you get your device up and running.

Speedtest

Speedtest

If your phone is acting sluggish, the questions might start mounting in your head as to why. Speedtest aims to answer those quesitons, giving you an idea of what the issues may be with your connection. A simple test tells you what your download/upload speeds are, on either cellular or WiFi.

Swiftkey 4.0

The stock Android keyboard is great, but Swiftkey might be better for you. Swiftkey learns how you type, mapping your keystrokes via heat impression. A quick glance past the “A” might tell Swiftkey you are typing it quickly, so “are” isn’t confused with “sre”, and thusly changed to “sorry”. A great free pickup, it does offer in-app purchases.

Pocket

Pocket

Ever come across an article you want to read, but don’t have time for? Pocket is perfect for that! You simply share the article to pocket, and it saves it offline for reading later on. It also simplifies the format, making the article more like paper and less like words between ads. It’s also everywhere you turn, so you can save to Pocket form just about anywhere.

Any.Do

Any.Do

Need an amazing to-do app? Any.Do has you covered! You can make lists for daily, weekly, or monthly tasks, and Any.do will even keep you on track with notification bar reminders for what you need to get done. Easy to manage, Any.Do can also be collaborative, making family or business tasks a breeze.

CloudMagic

Look, email sucks, but it doesn’t have to. CloudMagic is the absolute best email client around, offering not only a great interface, but the ability to save attachments to apps like Pocket or Evernote. You can set reminders, too, so an email will ping you later when you have the focus to deal with what the subject is. For procrastinators, active emailers, and saving files — CloudMagic is a winner.

Price Check by Amazon

Amazon PC

Sometimes you’re shopping around, and you think “I wonder if that’s a good price. I wonder if Amazon can beat it.” Price Check takes the guess work out of it. All you have to do is scan the barcode, and Amazon will tell you if they have it, and what the price is. Best of all, some stores match prices from Amazon, so you might end up with a bargain right then and there!

Paper Karma

Paper Karma

Nothing worse than checking the mailbox, only to find a plethora of garbage in there. You don’t even have a car, so why are you getting auto repair flyers?! Paper Karma gets rid of the junk mail, leaving your mailbox as clutter-free as your email. Think of Paper Karma as the “spam” button for real life. All you have to do is take a pic of the offending item, and Paper Karma removes you from the mailing list.

Conclusion
