  1. I’m trying to boot to recovery. I’ve got root. I’ve installed the “Stock 4.03 Recovery” but whenever I try to reboot into recovery it opens up to a little green android lying with his belly open and an exclamation mark in a red triangle. Any ideas?

    1. I see no one has replied to Joel after four months. I get the same result with the Stock 4.03 Recovery and am stumped by this process. My A500 is rooted but I can’t get past this step. I assume I need to patch a boot image with my SBK. I have it calculated but need to find a boot image I can patch.

What issue are you facing with the procedure? Could you please explan to us the exact issue you’re facing so we can help you out?

  3. Since your instructions do not tell us which recovery type to choose, I chose Stockv4.0.3 Recovery. I’m trying to boot to recovery. I’ve got root. I’ve installed the “Stock 4.0.3 Recovery” but whenever I try to reboot into recovery it opens up to a little green android lying with his belly open and an exclamation mark in a red triangle. Should I choose adifferent option?

  4. I have got root also. DO YOU HAVE TO UNLOCK THE BOOTLOADER before using this software or does it unlock the bootloader also? Also, what version of Bootloader is applicable to this software? Mine is 0.03.12

  5. i rooted my a500 just fine. its on 4.0.3 ics and i have flashed 4 or 5 different recoveries to it and none of them work. it just keeps saying recovery verified failed. please help!!

This guide is pretty much useless. I guess we’ll first to make sure which bootloader we are using in our A500 and if it has been upgraded to ICS via OTA (or not). This is a major factor that needs to be pre-checked and there’s nothing about it in this guide. Perhaps it’s simply outdated, so if you want to flash a customer ROM to your A500, simply look somewhere else and ignore this page.

ps: FYI I get the same “little green android lying with his belly open and an exclamation mark in a red triangle” so I’m trying to work my way through AFTEROTA.
