How to Root the LG Optimus Elite

So you just picked-up a brand new LG Optimus Elite and wondering how you could root it? Probably to get some root love on it. There’s now an easy way out there to root the aforementioned device and according to the reports, it works pretty well without much hassle. The guide below shows exactly how you can root your LG Optimus Elite smartphone and get the Superuser app running on it. Here you go:

I. Before You Begin:

1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.

2. Make sure your device has at least 50% of battery life left.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Ministro II APK (It’s attached in the first post)

2. Poot APK (It’s attached in the first post)

III. Rooting the LG Optimus Elite:

1. Place both the files you downloaded to your Desktop.

2. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.

3. Copy both the files over to the root of your SD card.

4. Once both of them have been copied, unplug your device from your PC.

5. Head over to Menu>>Settings>>Applications on your device and enable the Unknown sources option.

6. Open the File Manager app on your device and install the Ministro II APK.

7. Open the Ministro app from your App Drawer.

8. It will download some files to be able to work with poot, so just wait and let it finish.

9. Now open the File Manager app and install the Poot app.

10. Launch it from your App Drawer.

11. Hit press here to poot button in the app and it’ll begin rooting your device.

12. Your device will be rooted within a couple of seconds.

13. Now head on over to Google Play and download and install the Superuser app on your device.

14. Launch the Superuser app and just update it with latest binaries.

15. You’re done!

Excellent! You have successfully rooted your LG Optimus Elite smartphone and you should now have full access to system level files on your device!

  1. You need to add another step in the beginning for downloading file manager from the play store. My Optimus doesn’t come with a file manager and I’m sure a lot of others don’t include it either.

  2. I went through the steps but am having trouble with the superuser app. What are you supposed to do with this? I don’t see where it gives you the option to update binaries (not even sure what this means).
