LG G7 ThinQ Specs Are Official: Here’s a Quick Bulleted List of Them

Today, LG released the 7th generation of their G-Series flagship devices, the LG G7 ThinQ.

The device looks very similar to the G6 but has a metal trim around the outside and sports Gorilla Glass 5.0 on the front and back, is IP68-certified, and is Qi wireless charging capable.

Just like the LG V30S ThinQ, the device has added AI functionality for things like the camera that enables it to auto-detect a scene and adjust color saturation, exposure, etc. for that specific scene.

Other than that, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 (the latest flagship processor also found in the S9) with 4GBs of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is a MicroSD card slot to expand the internal storage.

The device also differs from the V30 and G6 in that it has a few fundamental changes:

  • A notch at the top of the screen (you can hide it using the software as we saw on the Huawei P20, but since it’s not OLED, it’s LCD. Instead, the black won’t be completely black so the notch will be a tad more visible than on the P20 Pro).
  • 6.1″ screen but it’s taller and skinnier than the V30 and G6.
  • Dedicated Google Assistant hardware button.

Otherwise, here is the full list of specs for those that just want to scan that for now:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Processor
  • 4GBs of LPDDR4X RAM
  • 64GBs of Storage
  • MicroSD slot (up to 2TB)
  • 6.1″ QHD+ 19.5:9 Screen capable of 1000nits of brightness
  • Dual Rear Cameras: 16MP Wide-Angle F1.9 (107 degrees) and a 16MP Standard-angle f1.6 (71 degrees)
  • Front Camera: 8MP F1.9 (80 degrees)
  • 3000mah Battery
  • Android 8.0
  • USB Type-C
  • Headphone jack
  • Colors: Grey, Black, Blue, and Rose
  • Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0
  • Hi-Fi Quad DAC
  • “Boombox Speaker” (Which “utilizes the internal space of the LG G7 ThinQ as a resonance chamber to deliver deep bass”) with DTS:X 3D Surround Sound
  • Rear-mounted Fingerprint Sensor

There you go quick specs. No word yet on pricing, availability, etc. I should be getting one though soon so expect a complete walkthrough and subscribe to the channel and tap the bell next to the word subscribe to be notified when that goes live.

I found a neat side-by-side of the G7 vs. V30 vs. G6 on CNET here and here is the full press release on the device direct from LG here.
