How to Close All of Your Open Apps at Once in iOS 7 (Video)
I, for one, would love a way to close all of my open apps on my iPhone. I’m used to having this ability when using an Android device and it’s become a bit of a habit in order to save battery life, and make the device a little snappier after having a bunch of apps running at once. To do this on an iPhone, I’ve had to sit there and swipe away all of the apps slowly until they are all gone, making it a bit more of a tedious undertaking.
Thankfully a developer on Cydia, came to the rescue. His jailbreak tweak is called SwitchSpring and it allows you to swipe away on the home screen when your looking at all of your open apps to then close all of them at once. Best of all, it’s a free tweak!
I. Jailbreak your iPhone/iPad
To do this procedure you must be jailbroken. If you aren’t, you can head to our Jailbreak How To’s section and pick the jailbreak for your version of iOS (currently at the time of writing this is 7.0.4). Once done with that procedure and you have Cydia installed, head back here to continue.
II. Install SwitchSpring
1. Open Cydia (if it isn’t still open from the section above).
2. Tap Search in the bottom right corner.
3. Type in SwitchSpring.
4. Tap on SwitchSpring when it shows up.
5. Tap Install in the top right corner.
6. Tap Restart.
III. Use SwitchSpring
1. Double tap the home button to get the multitasking screen to appear.
2. Swipe up on the tile of your home screen.
3. Select Quit Apps from the dialog box that appears to close all of your open apps (or you can hit restart to restart the device).
