How to Make the Dark Keyboard the Default in iOS 7 (Video)

Maybe you have a dark side? Maybe you root for the Darth Vader’s of the world? Or maybe white just hurts your eyes? No matter the reason, there is a new jailbreak tweak to make your iPhone/iPad keyboard match your personal tastes. The tweak, called Bloard, allows you to make the dark iOS keyboard (that you may have seen pop up in certain apps naturally) be the default keyboard for every app. Here’s how to install it.

I. Jailbreak your iPhone/iPad

To do this procedure you must be jailbroken. If you aren’t, you can head to our Jailbreak How To’s section and pick the jailbreak for your version of iOS (currently at the time of writing this is 7.0.4). Once done with that procedure and you have Cydia installed, head back here to continue.

II. Install Bloard

1. Open Cydia (if it isn’t still open from the section above).

2. Tap Search in the bottom right corner.

3. Type in Bloard.

4. Tap on Bloard when it shows up.

5. Tap Install in the top right corner.

6. Tap Restart.

III. Use Bloard

1. Bloard is enabled by default so just open anywhere you’d use a keyboard and you should see the dark keyboard instead of the normal light one.

2. You can also disable Bloard by going to Settings > Bloard and turning it off in there.
