How to Remove the Numbers from the Pin Code Screen in iOS 7 (Video)
This tweak is called SimplePasscodeButtons and it’s a free jailbreak tweak available in the Cydia store. It’s simple in that it’s only function is to remove all the numbers/letters from your pin code lock screen. If you’re thinking this is for security reasons, I’m pretty sure it’s not. Anyone watching over your shoulder as you input a pin can still see which keys you tap and that could be easily mimicked. With that being said, however, it does give an even more minimalistic look to iOS 7 (literally by giving you the bare minimum need to input the code). Either way, figured some people might like it. Here’s how to install and use it to remove the numbers/letters from the pin code screen.
I. Jailbreak your iPhone/iPad
To do this procedure you must be jailbroken. If you aren’t, you can head to our Jailbreak How To’s section and pick the jailbreak for your version of iOS (currently at the time of writing this is 7.0.5). Once done with that procedure and you have Cydia installed, head back here to continue.
II. Install SimplePasscodeButtons
1. Open Cydia.
2. Tap Search in the bottom right corner.
3. Type in SimplePasscodeButtons.
4. Tap on SimplePasscodeButtons when it shows up.
5. Tap Install in the top right corner.
6. Tap Confirm.
7. Tap Restart.
III. Setup SimplePasscodeButtons
1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap on SimplePasscodeButtons.
3. Tap either Default (standard pin code buttons), Hide Letters (to hide just the letters on the buttons), or Hide Everything (to hide… everything).
4. Next time you go to unlock your screen (if you have a pin code enabled in Settings > General >Passcode) you’ll have no more numbers/letters.
Enjoy!
