How to Add a Knocking Gesture to Activator in iOS 7 (Video)

Activator is a great app that allows you to use gestures to launch apps or perform actions. From tapping the homescreen with three fingers, to pinching when in an app, to a ton of other options, it can really add a lot of functionality to your iPhone, iPad, or iOS device. But what if you want a more violent gesture to perform an action? Knock is here to help. Installing this jailbreak tweak (which costs $0.99) allows you to use a new gesture in activator in the form of tapping hard on the front or back of the device. Here’s how to add a knocking gesture to activator if you are running iOS 7.

I. Jailbreak your iPhone/iPad

1. To do this procedure you must be jailbroken. If you aren’t, you can head to our How to Jailbreak iOS 7.0.6 (the latest version at the time of writing this). Once done with that procedure and you have Cydia installed, head back here to continue.

II. Install Knock

1. Open Cydia.

2. Tap Search in the bottom right corner.

3. Type in Knock.

4. Tap on Knock when it shows up.

5. Tap Purchase at the top right and follow the prompts to login and purchase using your preferred method.

6. Tap Close when you’ve paid.

7. Tap Install where Purchase used to be.

8. Tap Restart.

III. Use Knock

1. Open Activator.

2. Tap where you want the trigger to happen like normal.

3. Choose one of the two new Knock actions.

4. Select what you want to happen when you knock.

    1. I usually do show it in action, this one seemed pretty apparent as to what it did and figured it didn’t need it. Next time I feel that though I’ll make sure to add it just in case for someone like yourself. Thanks for the feedback.

Is it likely that that they will release a jailbreak for iOS 7.1.1 anytime soon? & also is there any way to “downgrade” iOS 7.1.1 to any of the previous iOSes? Thanks!

    1. Unfortunately, the rumor is that they won’t even attempt a jailbreak until iOS 8 (since it’ll be out in Sept most likely so they don’t want to waste a good jailbreak until then).
