How to Add Animations to Notifications in iOS 7 (Video)

One of the best parts about jailbreaking is all the customization you can do. Let’s face it, in a world filled with iPhones that’s only differentiator is the color, some UI changes can really help you stand out and feel just a bit special (mom telling you just doesn’t quite cut it nowadays). We showed you Springtomize and how amazing it is at helping you get that fuzzy feeling, but what if you want to add a little something extra? How about adding animations to the notification banners that appear at the top of the screen? Thanks to Animer7, a tweak from the Cydia store, no problem.

I. Jailbreak your iPhone/iPad

To do this procedure you must be jailbroken. If you aren’t, you can head to our Jailbreak How To’s section and pick the jailbreak for your version of iOS (currently at the time of writing this is 7.0.6). Once done with that procedure and you have Cydia installed, head back here to continue.

II. Install Animer7

1. Open Cydia.

2. Tap Search in the bottom right corner.

3. Type in Animer7.

4. Tap on Animer7 when it shows up.

5. Tap Install in the top right corner.

6. Tap Confirm.

7. Tap Restart.

III. Setup Animer7

1. Go to Settings.

2. Tap on Animer7.

3. Tap Notification Banners to access settings that pertain to the banners that appear at the top of the screen when you get a notification.

4. Change the settings in there to your liking:

• Banner Slide Animation – Choose where you want the banner animation to start its slide from (top, right, left, bottom, or none).
• Banner Fade Animation – Choose whether you want the banner to have a fading in animation or not.
• Banner Zoon Animation – Choose whether you want the banner to have a zoom in, zoom out, or no zoom effect.
• Slide Animation – Choose what type of animation you want to happen when the notification is done and leaves (slide to top, right, left, bottom, or none).
• Fade Out – Choose whether you want the animation to fade out when it’s done.

5. Tap on Multitasking Switcher to access settings that pertain to animations within the app switcher.

6. Change the settings in there to your liking:

• Fade In – Choose whether the app switcher itself fades in when you load it or not.
• Switcher Slide Animation – Choose the animation for when you load the app switcher (Slide from top or from bottom).
• Switcher Zoom Animation – Choose whether the app switcher has a zooming effect when it is loaded or not.
