Video: How to Launch Apps from the Lock Screen on Your iPhone (Jailbreak Tweak)

Unlike Android devices, the iPhone’s lock screen doesn’t have any useful things that can help you be more productive, or help you do any tasks in general. It’s just a layer that prevents unauthorized users from accessing your device, and that’s all. Do you wish if there was an option to add some apps to the lock screen so you can launch them faster than going to the Springboard and finding the app and launching it? Well, thanks to a jailbreak tweak developer, your wish has been fulfilled.

Here comes AppBox, a Cydia tweak, that allows you to add your favorite apps to your lock screen for quicker access to these apps. Once you’ve added some apps, you won’t be required to unlock your screen as just swiping to the left should bring you all of your chosen apps in front of you. Here’s how to install and use this tweak:

I. Jailbreak your iPhone/iPad

1. To do this procedure, you must be jailbroken. To learn how to do that, follow our How to Jailbreak iOS 8.1.1 tutorial and finish it, then come back here and continue.

II. Install AppBox

1. Open Cydia.

2. Tap Search in the bottom-right corner.

3. Type in and tap on AppBox.

4. Tap Purchase in the top-right corner.

5. Sign-in with your account and complete the purchase using your preferred method.

6. Tap Close once purchased.

7. Tap Install in the top-right corner (it used to say Purchase).

8. Tap Confirm.

9. When the tweak’s done installing, tap Reboot Device.

III. Use AppBox

1. Tap Settings.

2. Scroll all the way down until you see AppBox. Tap on it.

3. Make sure the switch to Enable AppBox is turned on (it should be green).

4. Tap Apps.

5. Tap Apps.

6. Select the apps you wish to see on your lock screen.

7. You’re done!
