How to AutoFill Passwords Using your Fingerprint on your iPhone 5S (Video)
Touch ID doesn’t have as many uses as most people would like it to. You basically can use it to unlock your device and purchase things in the App Store, but that’s it. A lot of people have mentioned why not allow it to auto-fill passwords like fingerprint scanners on laptops used to be able to do? One person who wondered that, happens to be a jailbreaking programmer and he’s sick of wondering.
His app, called iTouchSecure, allows you to use your fingerprint to auto-fill passwords once you’ve input the password in once. It’s a welcomed expansion of Touch ID’s functionality and I, for one, love it. Just further evidence of how much can be accomplished when you have full access to a device. Check it out.
I. Jailbreak your iPhone/iPad
To do this procedure you must be jailbroken. If you aren’t, you can head to our Jailbreak How To’s section and pick the jailbreak for your version of iOS (currently at the time of writing this is 7.0.4). Once done with that procedure and you have Cydia installed, head back here to continue.
*Don’t be scared, it’s easy to unjailbreak your device.
II. Install iTouchSecure
1. Open Cydia.
2. Tap Search in the bottom right corner.
3. Type in iTouchSecure.
4. Tap on iTouchSecure when it shows up.
5. Tap Purchase at the top right and follow the prompts to login and purchase using your preferred method.
6. Tap Close when you’ve paid.
7. Tap Install where Purchase used to be.
8. Tap Restart.
III. Use iTouchSecure
1. After it’s installed, either open Safari or any app you want passwords to be remembered in (if it’s an app, you need to log out of it first).
2. Type in the password and log in.
3. Next time, you go to enter that password in that field, you can now use your finger to fill it in instead.
