How to Get Free Wifi Tethering on Your iPhone on iOS 7 (Video)
Sick of paying AT&T, Verizon, or any of the other carriers extra to be able to use your iPhone’s data as a wifi hotspot? Me too. Thanks to a jailbreak tweak called TetherMe, you can pay $5 one time (consider it minor cost in comparison to the monthly fees) and install this app to allow you to tether to your device for free (it even has some neat options for VPN users). Here’s how to install it and use it on your iPhone running iOS 7.
I. Jailbreak your iPhone/iPad
To do this procedure you must be jailbroken. If you aren’t, you can head to our Jailbreak How To’s section and pick the jailbreak for your version of iOS (currently at the time of writing this is 7.0.4). Once done with that procedure and you have Cydia installed, head back here to continue.
II. Install TetherMe
1. Open Cydia.
2. Tap Search in the bottom right corner.
3. Type in TetherMe.
4. Tap on TetherMe when it shows up.
5. Tap Purchase at the top right and follow the prompts to login and purchase using your preferred method.
6. Tap Close when you’ve paid.
7. Tap Install where Purchase used to be.
8. Tap Restart.
III. Setup TetherMe
1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap on TetherMe.
3. Tap on Personal Hotspot.
4. Turn on Personal Hotspot.
5. You can also change various options like the password for the hotspot, where it gets its data from, etc.
