How to Add Shortcuts to Your iOS 7 Lockscreen (Video)

Swipe is a jailbreak tweak that allows you to make some more use of your lock screen in iOS 7 by adding shortcuts to the right of the unlock screen to your favorite apps. Simply install the tweak from Cydia and open it to set up 5 of your favorite apps that you want available on the lock screen. Here’s how.

I. Jailbreak your iPhone/iPad

To do this procedure you must be jailbroken. If you aren’t, you can head to our Jailbreak How To’s section and pick the jailbreak for your version of iOS (currently at the time of writing this is 7.0.4). Once done with that procedure and you have Cydia installed, head back here to continue.

II. Install Swipey

1. Open Cydia (if it isn’t still open from the section above).

2. Tap Search in the bottom right corner.

3. Type in Swipey.

4. Tap on Swipey when it shows up.

5. Tap Install in the top right corner.

6. Tap Restart.

III. Setup Swipey

1. Go to Settings.

2. Tap on Swipey.

3. Tap on First app and then tap the application you want to set as the first app to the right of the lock screen.

4. Repeat for all the apps after that.

IV. Use Swipey

1. With the screen locked, swipe from right to left (instead of the normal left to right to unlock the screen) and stop one whatever app you want to open.

2. After you stop, it’ll unlock the screen and you’ll be directly in that chosen app (you will still have to enter in a code to unlock the device, or use Touch ID, if that is enabled).
