How to Disable and/or Adjust the Sensitivity of 3D Touch on the iPhone
I’m still very confused by why Apple needed to create new hardware for the iPhone to add an ability to get additional options when a software addition of just allowing tap and hold would do the exact same thing but allow it to work on any device with the latest firmware (maybe someone can explain this to me in the comments below) but, after a friend displayed how hard it was for them to get it to work on their iPhone 6S, I figured it was a good idea to do a quick tutorial on how to disable 3D Touch if you don’t care to use it at all and how to adjust the sensitivity of it to make it work better for you.
Adjusting the Sensitivity of 3D Touch
1. First up, open the Settings app on the phone.
2. Then head to General > Accessibility > 3D Touch.
3. Adjust the slider here towards Light or Firm depending on your needs (Light was a better option for my friend who was essentially smacking the crap out of her screen in order to get it to work). And that’s it!
Disabling 3D Touch
If you want to just disable 3D Touch altogether (maybe you just hate change and want to go back to the way things used to be?) you can do that pretty easily as well.
1. Again, head to Settings.
2. Head back to General > Accessibility > 3D Touch.
3. Tap the toggle to turn it off.
And there you go a quick and dirty tip to help you deal, or not deal at all, with the new, slightly odd feature.
Let me know in the comments if this was helpful at all to you and if you have an answer for me as to why 3D Touch on a phone is in anyway better than just tapping and hold like normal.
