How to Play Super Nintendo Games on iOS 8
I may be an Xbox guy, but every now and then I get a little nostalgic for Super Nintendo. Who can forget Super Mario World and Super Mario Kart? While Apples App Store guidelines won’t let you install emulators, there’s a few diligent coders working hard nonetheless. Below we’ll show you how to install an emulator without the need to Jailbreak, the only caveat is it won’t work on the latest iOS version: iOS 8.1.
So if you were late to update to iOS 8.1, here’s how to install an SNES Emulator:
1. Open Safari.
2. Go to iemulators.com
3. Tap on Apps.
4. Scroll down and Tap on MeSNEmu.
5. Tap on Install.
6. You should get a popup that says dl.boxcloud.com would like to install “MeSNEmu”. Tap Install.
7. If you get a popup that says “Unable to Download App” tap Retry. You may get this a few times. Just keep clicking retry.
8. Hit the home button then go into the Settings app and Tap on General.
9. Scroll down and Tap on Date & Time.
10. Where it says Set Automatically click on the switch to turn it off.
11. You should now see today’s date. Tap on it and set the date back a few months. I went with three.
12. Tap the home button to exit out of the Settings App. Next time the “Unable to Download App” pops up click on retry. The Emulator should now be installed.
13. To return your Date & Time settings to Automatic Go back into the Settings app.
14. Tap on General.
15. Scroll down and Tap on Date & Time.
16. Where it says Set Automatically click on the switch to turn it on.
Your emulator is now installed. To play games you’ll have to search for a ROM in Safari and download it. After it downloads you’ll need to click on Open in “MeSNEmu”.
