How to Set Up Profiles on Android Using Profile Scheduler
Setting up profiles on an Android device can be essential if you are constantly changing your settings based on your location. Using the paid app, Profile Scheduler, you can set up different profiles based on where you are, and can set up timers so that they automatically switch.
I. Before You Begin
1. Head to the Google Play app store and download Profile Scheduler.
2. The app will be available in your app menu.
3. When you open the app a pop up gives you helpful hints, you can press dismiss unless you want to read through them.
4. The app runs in the background, and in your notifications bar will be a little speaker icon, this allows you easy access to the app at all times.
II. Tweaking the Settings
1. The main screen shows all the profiles that are pre-made and you can easily add one by pressing the Add Profile button. If you want to rearrange the order press the menu key and then select rearrange. From here you can drag the profiles around.
2. A little blue dot indicates which profile is currently being used, simply click the profile name to select another one.
3. The second tab, Scheduler, allows you to set a specific time that you want the particular profile to come on if you don’t want to change them manually. You can also select which profile you want to kick in after this one ends, as well as label the schedule.
4. The third tab, Rule Status, allows you set a profile based on certain apps or phone behaviors, such as when you are using the headset, car dock or when you are on WiFi, plus many others.
III. Changing Profiles
1. Hold your finger down on the profile you want to change and select Edit from the menu.
2. From here you can input the different settings for that profile such as notification tone, brightness, wallpaper and more. You can also change the icon that appears in your notification bar.
3. Another important feature is whitelist settings, found in the main menu, which allows you to set up specific actions for a contact. You can change the ringtone and volume for that contact, and even add this whitelist information to different profiles.
