How to Remove the Recycle Bin from Your Desktop
Maybe it’s just me but I feel like the Recycle Bin you see by default on the desktop of any Windows computer just looks so outdated.
It reminds me of a time when the computer was new and trying so hard to mimic an actual office setting squeezed down into a machine–this is your “desktop”, here is a “notepad”, if you need to throw anything away, crumbled it up and toss it into your “recycle bin”.
Regardless, of whether you think it looks old school or if you’re just into a more minimalistic design (also me), here is how to remove the recycle bin from your desktop.
Now, you would think you could just right-click the thing and have some sort of option to delete it/hide it/something/anything, but that’s just not the case. To get rid of the thing, you have to dive a bit into the settings.
1. Click the Start Menu > Settings.
2. Click Personalization.
3. Then Themes.
4. Now, click Desktop icon settings on the right side.
5. Uncheck Recycle Bin from the list of Desktop Icons, then click Apply.
Boom. Gone. Byeeee.
