How to Unroot the Sony Xperia XA Ultra

Before You Begin

  4. You should only do this on a Sony Xperia XA Ultra with model number F3212.

How to Unroot the Sony Xperia XA Ultra

To unroot the device, you will flash the stock firmware FTF file using Flashtool on the device and that will unroot and get your device back to the stock. Here’s how to do that:

Downloading Required Files

  1. Download Flashtool and save it to your desktop.

Unrooting the Sony Xperia XA Ultra

  1. Double-click on the downloaded Flashtool file and follow the installation wizard to install the tool on your PC.
  2. When the tool’s installed, head to the C:/Flashtool/drivers path on your PC and double-click on the drivers file to install the required drivers on your PC. It should not take too long to do that.
  3. Copy Stock Firmware .ftf file from your desktop over to the firmwares folder located in the Flashtool directory on the C:/ drive of your PC.
  4. Double-click on Flashtool executable and the tool will launch.
  5. When the tool launches, click on the thunder icon and then select Flashmode and hit Ok.
  6. On the following screen, you need to choose the firmware you wish to flash. Select the firmware you just copied into the firmwares directory and then checkmark everything in the Wipe section. Then, click on Flash to begin flashing.
  7. Unplug your device if it’s already plugged in to your PC.
  8. Turn off your device completely.
  9. Hold down the Volume Down button on your device and plug in your device to your PC using a compatible cable.
  10. The tool should begin flashing the stock firmware on your device. Wait for it to finish.
  11. When the tool’s done flashing firmware, reboot your device.

And there you go, your Sony Xperia XA Ultra is now unrooted and is back to the stock firmware.
