HTC Sense UI for HTC Magics to Be Released Soon
October 5, 2009 in Featured, Wireless News
According to the HTC site, they are now promoting an HTC Magic (the model with 288MBs not 192MBs like the MyTouch unfortunately) with HTC Sense (AKA Rosie, AKA Hero UI) on it direct from HTC.
This is good news for all HTC Magic users with 288MBs of RAM, soon as someone uploads it, it should be easy to port it to any other Magic with 288Mbs of RAM.
For those with 192Mb HTC Magics (including the MyTouch) this COULD be good news as well as it is another ROM to dissect and then convert to put on the 192Mbs Magics… Time will tell what new things they find in these ROMs that could benefit the 192MBs Magics though.

Hello Jon Stanley,
What Magic do you have? Direct from HTC (no logos on it besides HTC)? Or Rogers or is it a MyTouch, etc.?

Hello Stefan,
What phone company is your Magic from, that will let you know.

Hello Stefan,
Then you have a 32B Magic and only 192MBs of RAM.
Stefan said on October 6, 2009
is that too bad? How can i have more ram?
TheUnlockr said on October 6, 2009
Hello Stefan,
That is what most Hero ROMs do, they contain swapper which is virtual RAM for your phone. But it does not work as well as real RAM.

its the mytouch 32b from tmobile, logos galore. So i have 192mb im guessing? :[
It’s weird because listed under “internal storage” in the settins its says 266mb left. Im assuming thats not ram though? lol
TheUnlockr said on October 6, 2009
Hello Jon Stanley,
That’s right 192MB.
Not RAM storage for storing files lol

Rogers knows nothing about the sense UI from the multiple times that I have called. And asked, I would not hold your breath for It. HTC told me that it is up to the cellular providers to make it available on there handsets. So doubt we will get it.

TheUnlockr said on February 27, 2010
Shanish,
If you have a custom recovery image, it probably has a Mount USB option. Boot into recovery and click that, then you will be able to plug your phone in to the computer and put the files on the memory card.

i’ve updated to HTC sense UI on a HTC Magic from Vodafone a 32A edition, i’ve followed these steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=621890
For any chance do you know the reason why internal memory was reduced to 155MB? Thank you!! Best regards

Jgcaap,
The update had more apps, widgets, or files in it. And that takes up space.

yea but the update is way worth it
