“New Charging Groundwork” This tells me, that this is a fake… Happy april 1st..

If you correct the URL in the ZIP’s readme (remove the last letter) you’ll redirected to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/April_Fools'_Day

Everything sounded legit except that WiFi charging thing. Totally bogus. Those kinds of signals just don’t have the power to charge a mobile device in a decent amount of time. Maybe this might make sense for things like ZigBee.

Good job guys! Our readers are way too quick lol

Point #1 sounds like a bit of legitimate news to make the rest sound plausible, but …

#2: if it’s emulation, then it would take a phone significantly more powerful than the iPhone to emulate it. If it’s similar to WINE, then maybe. Cool if true, but very doubtful.

#3: ok, APRIL FOOL’S! Really. That’s gotta be a total joke, because it doesn’t even really make much sense from a technical point of view. It’s not like WiFi signals are all that powerful, otherwise we’d all be cooking alive in office buildings.

Heh, guys, I can’t believe TheUnlockr actually thought it was real when they posted it :D

Regarding the “I” issue, I think what’s happening is you’re opening it in a Windows editor that doesn’t understand Linux line endings, which ends up putting the I from the next sentence onto the end of the link.

Also, regarding WiFi charging, that part is actually true – the RCA AirPower is a real product, announced way before April 1st.

David, not sure why you removed the Source link pointing back to the article – any specific reason?

      Artem,

Lol, I posted it too fast (wishful thinking lol).
I never looked at the ROM (the other things seemed far fetched but sorta believable; I’ve seen the WiFi charging thing before, Nokia is in the process of working on it actually).
Should have know when you released a “ROM” and wasn’t for a specific phone and just said “go ahead and install”, it was crap lol.
Got me for a bit, Happy April Fool’s day, ya ass! lol

PS I DID post at the top that this was posted on April fools and that it could be a prank to be fair lol
As for the link, I refuse to link to people for April fools day news lol BUT I will link to you, going to change this post into a best of April fools and put yours in there with a link…

I like the Google animal translation. My favorite April Fool’s joke (and I am very biased) is the Boingo Wi-Fi buttload of credits giveaway in return for a Boingo tattoo: http://bit.ly/1Z0Xy7.

      Baochi,

And this is why our mother’s always tell us to “read the fineprint” lol

And I am terrible at reading fine print! ;)
