How To: Unroot the HTC Incredible

I. Before You Begin

1. The only reason to unroot is if you are sending it in for warranty purposes, otherwise just try to flash a different custom ROM…

2. If you feel you still need to downgrade, this method will get you back to the stock firmware that came on your device.

II. Downgrade Back to Stock Using the HTC RUU

1. Download the RUU

HTC Incredible RUU

2. Plug your phone in via USB and mount the sd card so we can transfer files to it.

3. Copy the PB31IMG.zip file to the root of your SD Card (NOT in any folders, just on the SD Card itself).

4. Unplug the phone.

5. Turn the phone off.

6. Turn the phone back on by holding down Volume Down and Power until the Hboot screen comes up.

7. It should automatically find the .zip file we just put on it and ask if you want to update. Choose Yes.

8. Once it is done updating, you are back to the stock Incredible firmware.

    i did all this at and the end of tha loading it said update fail! and then asked me if i wanted to reboot now? any ideas?

    mine said update failed cuz the main was an older version. I am trying to get back to stock cuz verizons network has messed up and is sending the texts and phone calls back to old phone customer service cant help cuz im on CYN 7 rom and it doesnt respond to their inputs the way it should as with the original does anyone have any advice.

    mine said update successful, then said do i want to restart , i did and now it wont start up.

      Same as me. After holding the power button, it does a quick vibrate like it’s going to turn on, but it doesn’t. Awesome.

    this is a tough one… my screen is blank. but the phone is on. I want to send to verizon but I have to get back to stock because i’m running r2doesinc’s ICS build from rootzwiki. I can’t do usb storage because obviously I don’t know how to get there without seeing the screen. Will i be able to get through this whole thing in any way? please help! thanks
