Android 2.3 Gingerbread ported on to N900
December 22, 2010 in Featured, Wireless News
While many of you Android users may be wondering if your phone will ever see the Gingerbread on it, some folks have already got it up and running on a Nokia N900. Not surprising, considering the smartphone has already dabbled with MeeGo and the previous Android version, Froyo 2.2, albeit an unstable one. The port is a result NITDroid team’s hard work, primarily those of Alexey Rosylakov, and although there are still a lot of kinks to be worked out, the team has got the basics covered with cellular data, WiFi, sound and a few other things already working.
The good folks have promised a stable build before the end of the year and when that happens, be sure to hit us up for an easy-to-use tutorial on how to get Android 2.3 Gingerbread on to your N900 right here on The Unlockr.
