BlackBerry PlayBook gets a video chat app

It seems that Droid users aren’t the only ones who will be able to video chat on their devices, as RIM has announced an app that does just the same for its PlayBook users.  As with GTalk, the PlayBook video chat application also uses the front-facing camera but with a vastly limited scope – the person on the other ends needs to have RIM’s tablet too.  Moreover, the app only works with WiFi connections which further limits its usability.  We distinctly remember Skype being demoed on the PlayBook this CES, which we think should be for more functional with cross-platform voice/video calls.

If you haven’t got it already, the app should be coming your way very soon.  Another option is to download it directly from the BlackBerry App World, which sounds better instead of playing the waiting game.
