Microsoft Limits App Developers for Windows Phone

Microsoft announced yesterday that they will now restrict the daily approval limit to 20 apps per developer. The new policy is targeted at developers who have been flooding the marketplace with hundreds of apps a day. Other new apps were being pushed from the “What’s New” category and Microsoft was concerned with how this changed the customer experience.

Developers are still able to submit more than 20 apps on a single day, but no more than 20 apps will be certified.  As the new policy went into effect immediately Microsoft will continue to monitor the feedback from both consumers and developers.

  1. Frankly I think it should be 1 a day. 20 a day is still way more than a single developer can make, so they must all be shovelware (eg. the same app but with the links changed to a different sponsor).
