According to Taiwan Economic News, HTC recently surpassed Acer as the most valuable international technology brand in Taiwan. The high honor was recently awarded to HTC by Taiwan’s External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Bureau of Foreign Trade.

HTC’s brand is now valued at a staggering $3.6 billion, which is an impressive $1.37 billion increase from last year. The Taiwan-based phone and tablet manufacturer is followed by Acer ($1.94 billion) and Asus ($1.36 billion). Here is what HTC CEO Peter Chou had to say during the award ceremony,

“You have to make an investment, spend time, and stay patient. Even if we failed, the process would help to produce positive results for Taiwan.”

No doubt the company’s strategy is continuing to yield positive results as HTC is projected to ship 13.5 million smartphones during the second half of this year. On Thursday, HTC reported its third-quarter revenue of NT$135.8 billion, up 79% from the same quarter of 2010, and net income grew 68% over the same period to NT$18.6 billion.

HTC also plans on significantly increasing its brand presence in China, which should translate into an increased brand awareness here in the states.
