Sprint Plans to Push Their 4G LTE Network Out Starting Mid 2012

During their “Strategy Update” meeting this morning, Sprint announced that they will be moving from WiMax and beginning the launch of their 4G LTE network in mid 2012 and having it largely complete by the end of 2013. Sprint also said that they will continue to launch and support WiMax devices in the meantime so dont worry about buying a device that isn’t compatible from Sprint (at least until mid 2012).

So that makes it official, LTE is going to become the new standard here in the US with Sprint being the last of the four major carriers to adopt the technology for future use. Everyone okay with that? Ya, me too.
